The department of Anatomy was first run by Prof. Dr. Aye Aye San who was the Head of Anatomy Department, University of Medicine-2. It was started in the academic year (2001-2002). Anatomy was one of the subjects in the second year, B.Pharm. course till 2014. At 2015 Academic year onwards, Anatomy became one of the subjects which are taught in the first year undergraduate curriculum.
